Maybe you are like me. You know the ins and outs of your local wine area. You are a seasoned wine taster. You’ve met a few winemakers and know some of the servers on a first name basis. All of this is lovely and good, but like me, you might just be in a rut. Maybe the servers actually worry when you DON’T show up on Sunday afternoon. Maybe you know the wine tasting flight better than the employees. I think then, it’s time to try something new – or rather old.
Give Them a Chance, a Second Chance
Next time you go out wine tasting, do what I like to call Second Chance Sunday. Go to two wineries that you really don’t like that much or that you had a bad experience at. Give them a second chance. I promise you’ll still have a great time because the people who make and sell wine love what they do, and on the other side, people out wine tasting are generally out to have a good time as well.
The wineries may just surprise you and have gotten better. After all, I know a few wineries that I used to love have changed and they are no longer my favorites. Why couldn’t the opposite be true? Make sure to pack some water and water crackers to cleanse your palate between wineries.
Be sure to end your wine tasting excursion at your favorite winery or maybe one you shy away from because the prices are high. Just make sure you end the day on a high note.
