Hi and thanks so much for stopping by here at Greenfield Way. My name is Kathy Hofmann, and I think there is something special about sharing a glass of wine and a bite of tasty food with family and friends. Whether at home, in a vineyard or tasting room, these moments bring us together. Over the years, my husband and I have honed the art of entertaining with and enjoying wine, spirits, and good food. We know our way around a tasting room, enjoy throwing casual dinner parties and picnics, and taking fun wine based vacations. If this sounds like your cup of tea or rather glass of wine, stick around as we explore the world of wine together.
I think my approach to wine is different than most wine aficionados. While others may detect a hint of smoke or liquorice or some other odd flavour, I tend to imagine when I might enjoy the wine again, with what food, where and with whom. That notion is how the name of this blog came to be. I often enjoy wine right on my front porch with friends and neighbours.
My husband, Klaus, and I split our time between our two homes in two separate wine regions of California. Our primary home is in the Tri-Valley in the San Francisco Bay area with its rich tradition of wine in the Livermore Valley. Our second home is up in Calaveras County where aside from jumping frogs there is a thriving wine industry just waiting to be discovered by wine lovers everywhere.
When I’m not enjoying wine, you can usually find me out jogging or playing tennis. We have two grown daughters, only one of which enjoys wine. But we all agree that our wonderful dog, Norton, is the best dog in the universe.
Thanks again for stopping by the blog. I’m new to blogging and would welcome your feedback!
